1. The data we collect
We collect two kinds of information from users: personal identification data and non-personal data.
Personal data is information that identifies a specific user. When you participate in certain activities that we offer on our site, such as the opening of an account, sending or publishing content, or participating in a contest, we may ask you to provide certain personal data, such as your name and your email address. You can choose whether to participate in said activities and if you would prefer not to provide the required information you will not be able to participate.
Non-personal data is information that does not identify a specific user. This kind of information can include the URLs of the websites you visited before and after accessing our site and your IP address. Us and our third-party authorised service and advertisement providers can collect this information automatically when you visit our site, as described below in further detail.
2. How we use the data we collect
We use the data we collect exclusively for the purpose for which it was given. This generally means one or several of these purposes:
– To manage your subscription to one of our magazines or your participation in one of its contests.
– To send you notifications through email about our products and services and special offers. For example, the release of a new issue.
– To improve the performance of our sites and applications by allowing us to personalise content and advertisements.
– To solve problems and conduct other administrative tasks.
3. Shared use of your personal data
We can share your data with our third-party service providers. We offer some of our products or services through third parties. These third-party service providers perform tasks in our name, such as the sending of administrative and promotion emails. We can share your personal or non-personal data with these service providers to send emails, manage contests in which to enter, provide services to the client and solve problems. In the case of personal data, these service providers will only have access to your personal data with the object of providing said responsibilities limited to us or in our name.
4. Cookies and other monitoring tools
We can use third-party analysis companies to carry out monitoring and analysis of the non-personal data used. In addition, we can use third-party advertisement companies to publish ads when you visit our sites. These companies may place cookies in your computer with the purpose of displaying certain advertisements.
5. Update and amend data
We recommend that you update your data quickly if it changes. To access and edit your personal data, you can update your account contacting firstname.lastname@example.org
6. User options
When you provide us for the first time with your data you can let us know if you wish to receive promotional emails. In addition, you can unsubscribe from these emails at any point after opening your account by contacting us at email@example.com
7. Security of personal data
We take very seriously all the precautions to protect the security of your personal data. This information is in secured servers that can only be accessed by staff and selected contractors. We cipher certain delicate information using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) to ensure that your personal information is secure since you have passed it on to us.
Unfortunately, no data transaction on the Internet or any wireless network is 100% secure. As a result, and while we do take commercially reasonable security measures to protect your data and partner with companies who do the same, we cannot guarantee the security of the information transmitted to or from our site, and we are not responsible for actions of any third-party with said information.
